About

Meet Cheri-Lynn Burk, Certified Clinical Thermographer and owner of Las Vegas Thermography.

For nearly five decades, Cheri-Lynn has worked in the health and wellness space, guided by one simple belief: people deserve to feel informed, supported, and truly seen in their health journey.

Her introduction to thermography came at a professional health conference. As she learned about this safe, non-invasive technology and its ability to detect subtle thermal patterns in the body, something clicked. She immediately recognized both its value and its absence in the Las Vegas community.

At the time, thermography services were not available locally. Rather than wait for someone else to bring it to the area, Cheri-Lynn stepped forward.

In 2009, she became one of the first to introduce clinical thermography to Las Vegas, opening her doors to individuals who were looking for more insight, more clarity, and a different approach to understanding their bodies.

Over the years, her work has been defined not only by experience, but by presence. Clients often arrive with questions, concerns, or uncertainty. They are met with calm reassurance, thoughtful explanation, and a steady hand. Cheri-Lynn has a gift for translating complex information into understanding, helping each person leave feeling clearer, more confident, and empowered in their next steps.

For her, thermography is more than imaging. It is a way of listening to the body and supporting people as they navigate their health with greater awareness.

A Brief History of Thermography

The principles behind thermography date back thousands of years, when ancient civilizations observed changes in skin temperature as indicators of underlying imbalance or injury.

Early medical practitioners in Greece, China, and Egypt noted that areas of warmth or coolness on the body often corresponded with inflammation or reduced circulation. These foundational observations eventually evolved alongside advances in physics and infrared science.

In the mid-20th century, modern infrared imaging technology made it possible to measure and visualize these temperature patterns with precision. In 1982, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officially recognized medical thermography as an adjunctive imaging procedure.

Today, Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) continues to be used as a non-invasive, radiation-free method for assessing physiological pattners and supporting overall health monitoring.

Thermography Beyond Medical Use

Thermography is widely used outside of healthcare in industries such as construction, engineering, energy, and manufacturing. Infrared cameras are commonly used to inspect buildings for heat loss, moisture intrusion, insulation gaps, and electrical issues by detecting temperature differences on walls, roofs, and equipment.

While the underlying infrared technology is similar, cameras for industrial or building inspections are specifically designed for entirely different purposes than those used in medical thermography. Medical thermography requires highly specialized cameras, controlled environments, and clinical protocols to accurately measure subtle temperature variations on the human body. Our cameras at Las Vegas Thermography are specifically calibrated for the human body.
